New Years Eve Around The World

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I didn’t have any plans for New Year, well that is all sorted now I am sure you will be pleased to hear. It did make me wonder though about where in the world I would go if I could go anywhere for New Year. Where would you choose?

A quick look at what is available in London shows dinners at restaurants or standing outside in the freezing cold watching the fireworks (which to be fair are normally very good). If you decide that you want to party though you can pay between £50 and £150 to one of the top end clubs and party all night long. What is on in these clubs that makes them so special? Nothing! That’s right, in true British style you’re lucky you get a glass of champagne and possibly a minor DJ celebrity whom most of us would not have heard of. Exactly what it is that you are paying for I have no idea.

I thought that I would have a quick look around and see what was going on. The Las Vegas deals are truly incredible! There are clubs that have 90 foot waterfalls inside, dance floors encased in glass, the worlds best chef’s creating incredible feasts and celebrities such as Fergie and Christina Aguilera in attendance. You may think that all this entertainment is going to be expensive, well at $150 – $200 it is certainly not the cheapest but when compared to London’s poor attempt it looks incredible. I shall be planning much earlier next year!

So far next year I only have one tripped planned. This is my tiger tracking trip to India. I have a couple of friends though who have expressed interest in doing a road trip across America. It has been quite a while since I did this and over the coming months I am going to plan the road trip here (so please say if you have any suggestions) and then either towards the end of the year or the beginning of next year I shall plan on taking the trip and of course blogging on it as I go.

I will be posting the last part of my trip to Mexico before Christmas and I hope that you enjoy it. All that is left for me to say is Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
